Bobbe McGinley
Bobbe McGinley has been working in the field of Chemical Dependency since 1988 and has worked with Problem and Compulsive Gamblers and their families since being certified by the Arizona Council on compulsive Gambling, Inc. in 1996 and was Nationally Certified in 1999. Bobbe began her career at the Hazelden Foundation, completing Hazelden’s 55-week Counselor Training Program. Bobbe is contracted with the Department of Gaming, Office of Problem Gambling, to provide services for problem gamblers and their families and has contracted in one capacity or another since 2000. Bobbe also has the contract with the Department of Gaming, Office of Problem Gambling to provide training for professionals from several different industries. Bobbe is a National Speaker and known expert on Problem Gambling and provider of services.
Bobbe founded her licensed agency, ACT-Counseling & Education, in 2000, and continues to speak to audiences throughout the country about problem gambling and how to provide services. Bobbe is the Clinical Director and CEO and is a National Consultant with contracts to provide services in several different capacities. Bobbe is on the Board of Directors of ABCAC Arizona Board for Certification of Addiction Counselors. Mike Speakman, LISAC: Gives presentations on two subjects:
1) Helping a Loved-one Recover from Addiction
2) The Role of Anger Management in Recovery
Mike is a Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor with an expertise in family education. He has a passion for sharing practical knowledge about recovery with family members of addicts and alcoholics; knowledge gained from working in treatment centers since 1988. He is presently on staff at Calvary Addiction Recovery Center, a faith-based residential treatment center for substance abuse and problem gambling. In 2007, Mike founded the first PAL-Group (Parents and Partners of Addicted Loved-ones), a no-cost, educational self-help group for parents (and spouses) struggling with the problems of an addicted family member. Today, there are 13 PAL-Group meeting locations in the Phoenix area.
Mike is also an Anger Education Coach. He developed the first Anger Management-Conflict Resolution Training Program for the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center in 1991. Since then, he has helped a wide range of people with his innovative Programs. He's developed and taught workshops for counselors, the general public, high-school and college students, and in the criminal-justice system. In 1992, Mike developed SMARTS-Training®, a results based Anger Management Program used in treatment centers and jails across the Country. In 2002, Mike published the "Healthy Expressions of Anger" Workbook, a self-study workbook he uses in Anger Coaching sessions with individuals and couples. Melanie Wall-Brumble
Melanie began her career over 18 years ago at Charter Hospital in Glendale, dealing with both Chemical Dependency and Mental Health clients. After creating, spearheading and facilitating the Intense Outpatient Program at Calvary Rehabilitation Center for several years, Melanie partnered with Tom Martin and created Alcohol Drug Abuse Prevention & Treatment (ADAPT) offering quality treatment to alcoholics and addicts for over nine years. Melanie then moved her talents to Aurora Behavioral Health in Glendale as the Chemical Dependency Coordinator where she created and implemented the CD IOP program. After several years she was recruited by Valley Hospital as part of the start up team again creating and implementing CD programs for both inpatient and outpatient levels of care. Melanie most recently has shared her talents at Sundance Center in Scottsdale, as a primary counselor working in both residential and IOP programs. She is trilled to join ACT Counseling & Education offering her expertise in Chemical Dependency Counseling in both the IOP and the Relapse Prevention levels of care. Melanie also provides individual and family counseling to those afflicted with the negative effects of addiction and MVD reinstatements.
